Panama is home to some unique shade grown coffee, so do not forget to hoard some single origin ground coffee for back home. Hit the coffee producing region of Boquete and take a coffee tour of the fincas (plantations). Although not one of its strongest suits, Panama does boast cocoa plantations and chocolate processing farms too. Located in the north-western region of Chiriqui, Boquete is known for its cocoa plantations. Further up north, adjoining Boquete, is Bocas del Toro which is famous for its chocolate farms and resorts. Boquete is eight to twelve hours journey from the capital city.
