One of the best places to head off to in case you are looking to not just buy the latest release of your favourite author but also have a chat with him in person and get that copy signed with personal address. The Oxford Book Store has shifted from the earlier Statesman Building to the block across the road, it has a smaller spread but offers the same promise, that of a great browsing experience (the literal one, not the Internet kinds). The venue also hosts talks and meets with authors, book launches and at these points, the Cha Bar gets converted into a mini auditorium packed with literary buffs. The shop has, over the years, metamorphosed into a haunt for book lovers and activists alike. The flipkarts and amazons of the world notwithstanding, Oxford bookstore will continue to get more than its fair share of footfall since there are enough book buffs in the city looking for a place to enjoy a good read.
