Nature adventures don’t have to all involve getting out of the city - there are plenty of hikes within San Francisco itself, but sometime you need some extra help finding them.Urban Hiker SF was founded by Alexandra Kenin, who fell in love with the hikes in San Francisco while working as a marketing manager at Google.

Two great hikes we’ve tried are:
Urban Jungle is a 5 miles, 3 hours, moderate to strenuous (according to their website, although we didn’t find it too bad, and there are plenty of rest stops). Take in views of the city and Golden Gate Bridge while finding some of San Francisco’s hidden urban jungles. $50 per person.
You’ll get a great dose of local flavour and history from your guide, a really unique side of the city that many people will never see.
