If marine life is where your interest lies, then Gold Coast won’t disappoint you with Sea World. Here you can see the dolphins jump in and out of the water, penguins waddle their way around, seals lazily sprawled out, etc. As you spot the sea life, you learn a lot along the way. It is here that you come away with fascinating facts, such as the jellyfish don’t have brains, (just a ring shape formation of nerves) and have been around since before dinosaurs. They prove it’s possible to survive without brains!Don’t miss the many shows, including the Penguin Encounter that recreates Antarctica and you get a glimpse of the penguins in their very own habitat. You can encounter sharks by stepping into a cage along with a trainer and going several feet under to feed the predators, and even become a trainer for a day by signing up for this special programme that allows you to train the dolphins with a real trainer by your side, guiding you at every step of the way. If that’s not enough, hop on a helicopter ride offered by Sea World, which provides you a bird’s-eye view of the marine park and the surrounding water bodies.
