Camel safari and watching sunset at Khuri Dunes

Sail on the camel back through golden sand dunes to reach the heart of the Thar Desert where the ball of fire slowly dips at the horizon biding you goodbye and the dramatic evening sky takes all shades and hues of red, orange, pink, purple and then grey. Khuri is a small village in the Thar Desert some 50 km from Jaisalmer. Locals there provide camel safaris to the dunes in very reasonable rates. Plan your vacation in a way that you get at least 2 nights in Khuri so that you can experience both desert stay and village stay. If you want to spend the night out in the desert, let them know in advance so that they make arrangements accordingly. The best time to visit Khuri is in December-January.
