Climb up the Kovalam Lighthouse

Several travellers daily head to the 118 ft, red-white striped Lighthouse aka Vizhinjam Lighthouse to feast their eyes on the bewitching views of the sea and the coast it offers from atop. Walk up to the observation platform from which you can see Poovar in one direction and the famous Beemapalli mosque on the other. You need to pay a very nominal sum to climb up the spiral staircase, and can freely take the pictures of the sweeping views by paying a fee, if you wish to. Make sure you visit this gorgeous lighthouse between 9 AM to 5 PM.
