There is nothing quite like an aerial view of the turquoise coastline of Costa Del Sol. If you can’t afford a helicopter ride just yet, the Benalmadena Cable Car is your next best option. The cable car ride takes visitors to the summit of Calamorro Mountain, the highest spot in the town of Benalmadena. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes and the summit is fairly high, almost 800 m above sea level. Once at the top, you will have access to stunning views of Costa Del Sol. On a clear day, it is even possible to spot the African coast. For this reason alone, the cable car ride is an absolute must for photography enthusiasts.
Once you’re at the top, you can go for a short hike on one of the sign-posted paths. These hikes aren’t very long but they offer amazing views of Spain’s countryside. It is worth noting that the cable car doesn’t operate during the off-season in January and February, so plan your trip accordingly.
