Located in McLeod Ganj, the Namgyal Monastery is where most people head to when they are in Dharamshala. The presence of the 14th Dalai Lama of course makes it an even more interesting event, but otherwise too this place is worth your time. The monastery was founded by the 3rd Dalai Lama Gyalwa Sonam Gyatso. The original monastery was built at the top of the Potala Palace, it was relocated in the year 1959 to Dharamshala.
