A roller coaster that goes entirely, hold on to your seats, backward, Backdrop is for those who like to live dangerously. What is evidently a result of Japan’s technological prowess, so much so that it is exclusive to the Universal Studios theme park in Osaka, this ride is shocking and thoroughly enjoyable despite the fear of diving into the unknown. With the wind in your hair and the thrill of being pulled by gravity at alarming speeds, you will constantly be grabbing the edge of your coaster, as if holding on for dear life. Interestingly, this three minute joyride is one of the highest powered roller coasters on this planet and the fall is as steep as 43 metres.A shining gem of the ‘Hollywood’ section of the park, the wait times for this particular attraction can go up to 2 hours and you could therefore get hold of the ‘Universal Express Pass’ that will help you skip queues. It is imperative for you to be at least 132 centimetres tall in order to get on this fascinating ride and it is not for children or those with a serious heart condition. If you are in perfect health, ditch your nerves and be prepared to be enthralled by this mother of roller coasters. And who knows? You might just queue up for a second round.
