Few people come to Oslo for its beaches but it boasts some truly beautiful coastline and fjords. In the summer, thousands of city dwellers flock to the beach at Huk to swim, sunbathe or stroll along the seafront. The rockier beach on the Bygdøy peninsula is better for hiking and cycling, with trails going into the surrounding forest. Read less

Seaside relaxation just minutes from the city center
Few people come to Oslo for its beaches but it boasts some truly beautiful coastline and fjords. In the summer, thousands of city dwellers flock to the beach at Huk to swim, sunbathe or stroll along the seafront. The rockier beach on the Bygdøy peninsula is better for hiking and cycling, with trails going into the surrounding forest.
To get to the beach at Huk, take bus 30A to Bygdøy and alight at the last stop. For the Bygdøy peninsula, find your way to the Huk beach and walk along the waterfront.
