Here's a Toronto secret: Everyone shops at Winners. A local chain of "off-price retailers," there are about a dozen Winners stores in the Toronto area, and at least four downtown. The brightly lit, spacious stores are short on ambience, but make up for it by the profusion of continuously changing merchandise. Winners' bargains include designer brand name clothing, shoes, jewelry, cosmetics, bags and home furnishings, with prices that are generally 20-60% below regular prices. Each store receives deliveries several times a week, from many sources, which makes shopping at Winners a treasure hunt. You are unlikely to come out empty-handed.
