Located on Baba Kharak Singh Road in Connaught Place, Hanuman Temple is an old religious centre. The temple was later reconstructed in the year 1724 by Maharaja Jai Singh and soon became one of the most important religious spots in central Delhi. As the temple’s presiding deity is the Hindu god Hanuman, it is visited b a large number of devotees on Tuesdays and Saturdays. As far the architecture of the building is concerned, the ceiling of the shrine is worth mentioning since it is beautifully engraved with the images of Rama. Besides Hanuman, the temple also has shrines dedicated to Shiva, Krishna and Ganesha, among others. An interesting yet lesser-known fact about this temple is that it holds a Guinness Record for the non-stop chanting of the Sri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Ram mantra. Read less
