Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this garden tomb is considered to be the finest example of Mughal architecture before the Taj Mahal. Like the Agra monument, it is surrounded by a charbagh (four square gardens) with water channels and a central mausoleum. Built in 1565 AD, nine years after Mughal emperor Humayun’s death by his widow Bega Begum, the picturesque tomb makes good use of white marble and red sandstone.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
