To increase the ridership in the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) buses, the initiative has been taken by Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL) to save precious time of the passengers by installing automated check-in kiosks in the Vayu Vajra buses, through which you can check-in and print your boarding pass while on board.
Earlier, a pilot was run on the KIAS-9 (Kempegowda Bus Station-KIA) route, which saw 600 people using the facility.

The facility is very useful for business travellers, and those who are carrying cabin luggage only. They can head directly to the security check-in without going through any hassles.
At present, the facility is being offered to passengers taking domestic flights of five airlines Air Asia, GoAir, IndiGo, Jet Airways, and SpiceJet.
“Passengers using Vayu Vajra spend nearly an hour on the bus. The response to the check-in kiosk has been good so far. We hope BIAL will extend the facility to the remaining buses,” said a senior BMTC official.
BIAL MD Hari Marar recently said they are also working to extend the facility to all the airport buses, which would also display flight information.
