Around 15 km south-east of Mathura is the legendary town of Gokul, where you can find mythological stories from Lord Krishna’s childhood resplendent in its glorious places, structures, temples and elements. One such significant place is the tranquil stretch along the River Yamuna known as Brahmand Ghat.
You can easily spend around half an hour exploring Brahmand Ghat―sprinkle a few drops of the Yamuna River onto yourself and proceed to pay your reverence in the nearby Krishna Temple. Just outside the temple, packets containing the sacred mud from the region are sold for Rs. 10 which the locals believe to have magical healing powers.
