The Estadio Nacional or the National Stadium of Peru was inaugurated on 27th October 1952 for the 1953 South American Championship. It’s a huge stadium with a propensity to fit more than 40,000 people. This multi purpose stadium is the principal stadium of Peru and has had the opportunity to host several South American competitions held in Peru.Football is the most popular game in the country and was introduced to locals by British immigrants. However, it isn’t the only game played at this stadium. There are plenty of other games played here. Estadio Nacional is also home to several sports federations including volleyball, boxing, bodybuilding and even karate. The National Stadium of Peru is famed to be one of the most modern and iconic stadiums in all of South America. It is equipped with facilities such as LED screens and night lighting—that is why it deserves a visit. If there is a game being played there during the time you are visiting, do make it a point to go and see a world-class stadium in action. Book a VIP lounge if you’re in a group for a sports experience like no other. Alternatively, stock up on snacks and get a regular seat to watch a match or two.
