One of the leading mobile operators in India has joined hands with a few other companies to form a global alliance that will soon offer high-speed in-flight data connectivity on the mobile phones of domestic air passengers.
This initiative was announced in Barcelona and the alliance is now aiming to bring more companies into its fold in order to make the data connectivity in airline cabins more seamless.

As of now, it will only be the customers of the leading mobile operator who will be able to make use of the data connectivity that will be provided inside the cabins of the flights operating in India.
Although it will be restricted to only the users of the particular mobile operator, the bright side of it is that it might prompt other leading mobile operators in the country to take up the same initiative until data connectivity during flights become a commonplace thing in India. More than anything, it will help both business and leisure travellers in India to a great extent, especially those who need and like to remain connected at all times.
