Venture out 10 km on the eastern side of Jaipur towards the Aravalli Hills, and you’ll find yourself amidst majestic temples and natural water springs. A beautiful cluster of pavilions covered with rounded roofs and intricately carved pillars walls, the Galtaji complex organises large-scale celebrations on the festival of Makar Sakranti in January. Besides the main Galtaji temple, the complex is famous for the Ramgopalji Temple, colloquially referred to as the monkey temple. The complex also houses tanks called kunds that store water from natural water springs. Locals consider it auspicious to take a dip in the waters of these tanks while visiting the temple.
