The marine national park is where you can witness the Leather back turtles in action. Sometimes as heavy as 400 kg, the leather back turtles come here to lay eggs from October to March. Hiring a guide, called a ranger is mandatory as they will guide you the best vantage points without scaring the turtles away or getting in the way of laying eggs. This is mostly an all-night event starting somewhere after 8pm. Depending on the moonlight, you will be able to see the turtles come and dig holes to lay eggs. No artificial lights, noise, camera and flashes are allowed. Later, you could witness the rangers collect the eggs and take them to the hatcheries to increase the chances of survival. It is a life altering experience of sorts to see the magic of nature at work in clockwork precision. It is a known and established fact that month later turtles come back to the same spot to fetch their hatchlings with their excellent navigation skills, and ability to find the location to a single latitude and longitude.
