There is no better place to explore on foot than Luxembourg City. So much so that there is actually a dedicated circular walking route around the city that will give you a glimpse of all the natural and man-made sights of interest that Luxembourg has to offer. The walk is fun, informative, and can be completed in a couple of hours. The best place to start the walk is the Bock Promontory, which is also known as the ‘cradle of the city’. Perched atop the cliffs, this point gives a spectacular view of the valley of the Alzette River below. Here you can also see the casemates, a series of underground defence tunnels, which are totally worth exploring.
