A potent symbol of Scottish independence
Word to the wise: Free guided tours should always be booked in advance, particularly during summer.
An unashamedly modern construction by renowned Catalan architect Enric Miralles, the unusual building hosts regular Parliamentary debates, which are open to the public, and also provides free (and highly recommended) guided tours through the Chamber. You can also see the Parliament’s impressive art collection, including paintings, photos and sculptures. Afterwards, recoup in the excellent and great value on-site café.
