Cycling around Lodhi Gardens

A visit to Lodhi Gardens on Lodhi Road can be packed with history, nature, games, all rolled into one. For best results, carry cycles for your kids to make full use of the long track that circles this 90 acre garden and is an experience in itself, considering it’s the only way children can cycle around without the fear of an approaching vehicle or the trauma of deafening car horns.
Stop over at Mohammed Shah’s tomb, Sikander Lodhi’s tomb, Sheesh Gumbad and Bara Gumbad, architectural wonders standing since the 15th century. Carry some white bread to feed the ducks and swans that merrily cluck about at the lake and happily pose for the kids, since they appear rather fearless with respect to kids that want to come and admire them from close quarters, it is a sheer delight for the little ones. And while you are at it, give a guided tour of all the trees that have been planted and are well taken care of by the municipal department.
