The Spa Le Bristol is the only spa in Paris fitted out with a Russian room, containing the city’s only heated marble table. September sees the launch of a traditional Russian banïya treatment, including the ‘beating’ of the body with ‘veniks’—birch branches infused with essential oils. The ritual lasts 2 hours 40 minutes, and is priced at €450. It starts with hammam, then a raw sponge massage, then a crushed ice scrub, and then veniks. After that, you’ll be swaddled in a honey body wrap and given a detox drink containing fresh ginger, lemon and thousand-flower honey, berries and red fruit. If you’re feeling shaken up, but you still want to stick to the theme, head upstairs to the bar for vodka.
