The city of Amritsar is known for many reasons and among them, various religious centres and spiritual hubs constitute a very important part of the city’s existence. The Golden Temple or the Harmandir Sahib Gurdwara is almost synonymous to Amritsar. Embark on a quiet spiritual journey from this magnanimous shrine standing in glory and pride of the Sikh community. Be a part of the daily chores of the gurdwara and serve at the langar (community lunch) to understand the value of unconditional devotion. Durgiana Temple is another holy place which is a famous repository of Hindu scriptures. Dedicated to goddess Durga, this shrine’s appearance has striking resemblance to the Golden Temple. The temple also pays offerings to Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu through a series of stunning art work. Then there is Gurudwara Goindwal Sahib, another important spiritual hub where the third Sikh Guru, Guru Amardas lived and preached for 33 years. Explore these holy places and take a path to inner peace.
