There is a Chinatown in every mega city, and KL is no different. Chinatown in the bustling heart of Kuala Lumpur is one of the most popular places for locals as well as tourists. It is a place where the hustle and bustle never comes to an end. In fact the area comes alive in the night, when the street gets filled with traders putting up stalls, occupying every inch of the market. Located on Petaling Street, it is known for counterfeit goods and knock-offs of famous international brands. This is the place for cheap shopping; be it clothes, herbs, handbags, fashion accessories or fancy gizmos. The street is also lined with stalls selling cheap and tasty Chinese and Malay food. Whether it is street food dining or bargain hunting, visiting Chinatown in KL is a must thing to do. Once you start bargaining, it is kind of addictive. Fill your bags with knock-off tees and head to a Chinese stall for delicious meal of Hokkien Mee or Asam Laksa.
