One of the longest flying roller coasters in the world, ‘The Flying Dinosaur’ in no way hides its intention to frighten its riders while giving them the strongest adrenaline rush of their lives. A prominent feature of the ‘Jurassic Park’ section within the Universal Studios in Osaka, this coaster turns a whole 360 degrees mid air and soars at overwhelming speeds, so much so that you might just feel like you have morphed into a bird. The realisation that you are flying in the company of a dinosaur (albeit unreal) is all the more terrifying. The rises and drops are sharp and sudden and the course seems rather unending as you rapidly go around the unnerving brainchild of Michael Crichton. This attraction is therefore definitely not for those with a weak stomach.A surefire way to gauge the dread associated with ‘The Flying Dinosaur’ is to hear the screams of the people who are already on the coaster while you queue up for the same. If you are brave enough, you will experience thrills that you couldn’t possibly have conjured up even in your wildest dreams. Take up this challenge in order to overcome your fears, both of wild and ferocious Pteranodons and of crazy heights. And don’t worry, the experience is perfectly safe because you are, after all, surrounded by Japan’s cutting-edge technology.
