Located just east of the city’s downtown, this zoo is one of the best in Canada and is perfect not only for kids but also adults. After a devastating flood in 2013 that wiped out almost the entire zoo, it has now been rebuilt and is bigger and better. The highlight of the zoo has to be the penguin exhibit, named the Penguin Plunge. This exhibit allows kids and adults to get up close and personal with these extraordinary creatures. Wander through their underground habitat where they will swim, splash and interact with others right in front of your eyes. Other highlights of the zoo include the Prehistoric Park where life-size dinosaurs that move and make sounds are around every turn; Destination Africa where monkeys, gorillas, hippos and giraffes live; and the beautiful conservatory and gardens. It is easy to spend at least a full day at the zoo, which is open year-round.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
