Tignes lurks in the shadows of its more illustrious neighbour, Val D'Isére, yet still has a lot to offer. Although the simple, purpose-built accomodation of 40 years ago detracts from its allure, Tignes offers an extensive range of challenging skiing. The long cruising piste routes appeal mainly to intermediates, and in addition to the beginners' nursery slopes, the resort also boasts a selection of lift-served off-piste routes that would excite the majority of advanced skiers. Tignes has an excellent record of good snowfall, whilst the impressive lift system adds to the resort's appeal and convenience. Although Tignes has little to offer those pursuing off-mountain activities, there is a lively aprés-ski to be had for those seeking it.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
