Today, this structure is the home of the state legislature. Back in 1956, it took four years, 5000 labourers and 1500 artisans to complete this magnificently striking building. True to its conception, the building is a testament to the splendid style of south Indian architecture influenced by both British and Islamic design. Plan a visit here in advance, as entry is restricted. If possible, save it for a Sunday evening or a public holiday, that’s when the Vidhan Soudha is floodlit and looks stunning even by night.
