Splendors of Deccan is the latest offering of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), which will be flagged off from December 2. IRCTC, which is the tourism wing of Railway Ministry, is of the view that with the introduction of this tourist train, it will definitely prove to be a boost for tourism. Kishore Satya, Manager of Tourism Regional Office, Bengaluru, referring to this development, said that this 10-day journey by train will start from Madurai Railway Station, which will pass through Whitefield Railway Station in Bengaluru. During this 10-day train journey, passengers will cover many places, such as Hyderabad, Aurangabad, Ajanta, Ellora, Mumbai and Goa, which will be all inclusive of the tour package.
The tourism official further stated that the tourists will be provided meals, accommodation facilities in inns (dharamshalas) and dormitories, and arrangements will also be made to facilitate their sightseeing.
