Whatever the season, visiting downtown with kids is always a good idea. First up the Calgary Tower is not to be missed, where kids can stand on the always exciting glass floor and enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the city. Another indoor downtown activity is the Eau Claire Market where kids can head to the indoor playground, keeping them busy for hours. Outdoors, Prince’s Island Park is a huge area offering playgrounds, river views, bike paths and even a splash area in the summer. Devonian Gardens is another hit among both kids and adults, and is Calgary’s only indoor public park. There are hundreds of species of flowers and plants to gaze at, besides fountains, waterfalls and ponds stocked with fish. The indoor playground here offers plenty of twisting slides, a rock wall for climbers, spinning seats, monkey bars and other activities, all surrounded by beautiful greenery. And for those little ones who like to shop, there is no shortage of incredible stores located in the downtown core.
