Visit Vivekananda Memorial

One of the things that has become synonymous with the quaint town of Kanyakumari is the Vivekananda Memorial, and you can’t help it but visit it at least once as a traveller. Located 400 m offshore, this memorial is built on the rock on which Swami Vivekananda from December 25 to 27 in the year 1892. There’s a temple which comprises two mandapas that showcase some of the finest architectural styles inspired from different parts of the country. The lower mandapa of this temple is believed to contain goddess Kumari’s footprint, which is also a big reason why devotees flock to this place. One of the reasons why travellers from all parts are attracted to this particular spot is the stunning views of the sea that one gets from the rock.
