Although Bangkok is littered with beautiful temple complexes, the biggest and most impressive one to strike off your list, is Wat Pho. Located behind the Temple of the Emerald Buddha—Wat Phra Kaew—which is also worth a visit, the highlight at Wat Pho is the giant (46-m-long and 15-m-high) Reclining Buddha statue of gilded gold and mother-of-pearl feet. Once you’re done admiring the beautiful 16th century temple, complete your visit by popping in to the massage school on the premises. Considered the leading school of massage in Thailand, the students here will bend, twist and fold your body until you’re left feeling weightless.
