However, things were not rosy for some groups of visitors who, earlier this week, took a cable car to the mountain. As luck would have it, they had to spend an entire night at the cable service’s summit lodge after a power outage, caused due to lightning, led to a complete shutdown of the services.

As per the reports, among those stuck on the lodge were the newlyweds, Jaclyn and Brennen McConnell, who had also taken the Banff Gondola cable service to the mountaintop to click pictures on their wedding day. Just like the others, they also had to spend the night up there.
However, after this mishap, the Banff Gondola responded by posting a clarification on Instagram. It stated that following the power outage, their first priority was to ensure the safety of those in the gondola cabins. Once visitor’s safety was ensured, their team provided food, blankets and beverages, to keep everyone as comfortable as possible up there.
