Reportedly, Switzerland’s State Secretariat of Migration (SEM) recently announced lifting of all entry restrictions that had been in place through the duration of the pandemic with effect from May 2.
Referring to this, Ritu Sharma, Deputy Director and Marketing Head - India, Switzerland Tourism, stated that Switzerland tops the wish list of avid travellers across the world who have been eagerly waiting to visit the country these past two years without being burdened by paperwork.
If reports are to go by, Switzerland has removed some of the major COVID-19-related travel and entry restrictions around mid-February. And as per the latest announcement, the general rules that existed in the pre-pandemic times will be restored.
As of now, all travellers are required to have a valid recovery or vaccination certificate to be permitted restriction-free entry to Switzerland. However, when the new entry rules start applying, travellers will no longer be required to hold either a valid recovery or vaccination certificate.
As per the Swiss authorities, travellers will only be required to follow other rules, such as holding a valid passport or visa, if any such requirement applies to them, from May 2.
