The English Prime Minister Boris Johnson said, "A lot of people do want to know about what's going to happen on the holiday front and I know there's a great deal of curiosity and interest."
Starting next week, any such attempt will include a heavy fine. The penalty is included in legislation and British MPs will take a vote on the same this Thursday.
Presently, the UK has banned all sorts of foreign holidays under Stay at Home legislation. But now, it is going to be replaced with the new COVID-19 laws next week. The government has assured its citizens that the holidays could be allowed again starting May 17.
The announcement comes after Europe reported a surge in Coronavirus cases along with the slow rollout of vaccines in the continent.
