Come February 13-15, Alwar, Rajasthan, will be all abuzz with activities. The city will be hosting the Alwar Festival 2023 (February 13-15), a festival organised by the district administration.

If you have never been to Alwar, the festival is the best opportunity to experience the city’s timeless history, culture and architecture.


The three-day cultural festival will showcase the folk dance, music and handicrafts of the region. The festival begins with a procession, which goes through popular tourist places in Alwar. This is done to highlight the rich cultural history of the city.

Alwar is located at the foothills of the Aravalli ranges, in the National Capital Region (NCR).


At the festival, one must visit the Shilp Gram or the handicraft village. Here, you will be able to see several hand-made items, mostly handicrafts showcasing local tradition and culture.



Apart from the unique regional handicrafts, one can also enjoy the folk performances, and watch an interesting match of elephant polo or take part in various competitions.

By Air: Jaipur’s Sanganer Airport, located around 162 km away from the city of Alwar is the nearest airport. Since Jaipur is well-connected to other cities in India, it is easy to reach Alwar too.

By Road: There are regular bus services to Alwar from Jaipur and other cities in Rajasthan. If you are an outstation visitor, you can easily take a bus to Alwar from Delhi.


By Rail: Alwar railway station is connected to all major cities in India.
