Famous national parks in Assam to welcome tourists from today

After being shut for several months, the national parks in Assam have reopened their gates for tourists from today (October 1). The parks were closed due to the pandemic situation and the monsoon season. Assam’s famous Kaziranga National Park (KNP), which is noted for its population of one horn rhinos, has been opened partially. Tourists can access the park through three ranges from today.
Tourists will be allowed Jeep safari for the time but the most popular elephant ride won’t be allowed as of now. On the other hand, the other popular park in Assam, the Orang National Park (ONP), has already reopened for tourists. The information was shared by ONP divisional forest officer Pradipta Baruah.
The parks will follow all the protocols and safety guidelines related to COVID-19. Baruah also said, "Remaining part of the tourist route will be opened only after repairing of the roads and will be notified in due course."
Manas National Park, another famous park in Assam, has also started welcoming tourists from today. The park officials said that the park will follow all COVID-19 protocols and necessary health measures.
