Jammu Airport to shut down for 15 days in March

Jammu Airport will stay shut for 15 days, starting from March 5, 2021, to March 20, 2021, for repair and maintenance work on the runway.
According to the latest reports, Senior Air Traffic Controller has written to the Airport Authorities and Airlines that full closure of the runway at Jammu for 15 days for laying of the final two top DAC-II layers on runway surface has been permitted by the Air HQ from March 6 to March 20, 2021. The same has been conveyed to ED (Operations) Airport Authority of India, New Delhi.
The letter has also been sent to the airline operators that have their flights running to and from Jammu airport. On an average, about 20 flights run at the airport.
Jammu airport connects travellers from all over India and the world to its scenic spiritual and heritage sites such as Mata Vaishno Devi Mandir, Raghunath Temple, Bahu Fort, Bhimgarh Fort, Peer Kho Cave, Manda Zoo, Mubarak Mandi Palace, Shiv Khori, Sheesh Mahal and many more. Of all the destinations, Mata Vaishno Devi Temple is the most-visited destination in Jammu. It has to be accessed via a 12 km-long trek to the top of a mountain known as Trikuta.
