Since the arrival of the monsoon was delayed this year, the closure of sanctuaries also got delayed by two weeks. Referring to this, forest range officer for Chandoli National Park added that now as the monsoon has arrived, the decision to close Chandoli dam has also been taken, whereas the safari at Chandoli National park will stop operating from June 15.

Meanwhile, with the monsoon approaching, Radhanagari- Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary has also been shut down for tourists. This place is famous for gaur sightings, and will again open for tourists on November 1.
Referring to this, a wildlife safari tour operator at Radhanagari-Dajipur wildlife sanctuary added that since monsoon season is the breeding season for animals, and it’s also the time when snakes tend to come out on roads, thereby posing a threat to humans. As such, wildlife sanctuaries are kept closed during this time to not disturb the wildlife activities.
