Tourism ministry to develop the famous Narayan Koti Temple in Uttarakhand

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, has announced plans to develop the famous Narayan Koti Temple in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. The Ministry, along with Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB), Director General - Culture, UttarakhanD, and Social Legal Research & Education Foundation (SLRE) have also signed a MoU for the development of the temple.

The development will be done under the Ministry of Tourism’s Adopt a Heritage scheme. As per the MoU, the SLRE Foundation, a NGO, has taken the responsibility of developing amenities for tourists/visitors around the temple which is an ancient heritage site.
The work of the foundation will include building of the roads, preparing a garbage disposal system and installation of street lights, providing clean drinking water, and developing parking spaces around the temple.

More about the Narayan Koti Temple
A group of ancient temples, Narayan Koti is around two kilometers from Guptkashi. The place is so famous because it is the only temple in the country where temples of all the nine planets Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Sun, Moon, Rahu and Ketu are present. The temple is set on the Rudraprayag-Gaurikund highway and is one of the revered sites for Hindus.
