The Indian state of Kerala is currently facing the wrath of nature, as at least 26 people lose their lives in floods. It is being reported that the most affected districts in the state are Kottayam and Idukki. Travellers may want to take note, and keep themselves updated regarding the weather. It is not advisable to travel to the affected areas in the state, as the rural areas are getting cut off.
The Indian armed forces are already running rescue operations in the state as weather forecasts suggest rain to continue for the coming week.
After days of rainfall, thousands have been evacuated, as 184 relief camps have been set up for those affected by the rain. Food, clothing, and bedding have been provided to over 8000 people, according to last estimates. As people grieve over the loss of property and livelihood, the government announces financial aid.
