Greece is expecting a huge number of visitors this summer and the government has announced that from May 1 to August 31, travellers will not require Coronavirus vaccination certificates to get inside any indoor or open spaces in Greece. Travellers can freely enter restaurants, and other public spaces.
Greece is one of the most popular summer destinations in Europe. In 2019, the country attracted more than 33 million visitors and most of the travellers were from Britain and Germany. Apparently, the tourism sector alone accounts for about a fifth of the country’s economy and gives employment to one in five people.
In addition, authorities are also planning to remove the requirement of presenting an EU digital COVID-19 certificate to enter the nation. Indoor mask wearing will also not be required from June 1.
