So what exactly is Sambhar Festival?
The festival will focus on the lake’s special features and its potential as a great tourist destination in Jaipur. For this, the festival will feature special events like full moon events, bike rides, kite flying, parasailing, ATV rides, camel rides, photography exhibitions, Sambhar salt processing tours and birdwatching. Several folk performances by local artists will also be a part of the festival.
If you thought these birds were the only beings who took a liking to this salt lake, think again. Bollywood biggies like PK, Highway, Kai Po Che, Super 30 and Ramleela were filmed here!
From salt pans to Bollywood, and now adventure sports, Sambhar Lake continues to show the world what a special place it is.
