Revealing more about this development, Superintendent of Police Sagar Jain said a few labourers stumbled upon the coins recently, while digging soil for erecting a boundary wall at Sati Dham temple in Hussainpur village.
Elaborating more on this, a historian added that most of the coins found are from the era of Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II, and that the coins are made of silver.

If reports are to go by, most of the coins found are estimated to be around 350 years old, whereas the weight of each coin is more than 11 grams. Reportedly, each coin in the market has a value of around INR 3,500.
A similar incident happened earlier this year too, when several Mughal-era square-shaped coins, probably dating back to the early 14 and 15 century, surfaced during a construction work in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh.
