As per the Transport Safety Administration figures, more than 1.35 million travellers checked in at American airports on Friday, which was the most since March 15 last year.
Although the latest trend is positive, airports have not yet reached the volume that used to be normally during this time of year.
The previous high was recorded on January 3, with nearly 1.33 million passengers, and that was since the onset of the Coronavirus crisis. Reportedly, air traffic plunged to 87534, which was the record low witnessed on April 14.
The United States of America with a reported number of world’s largest COVID cases, has been struggling to get over the situation and is yet to resume international travel fully.
However, as per the report, the United States as of now, has administered more than 100 million doses of the vaccine, and the number of new cases has also reportedly fallen from their highs over the holiday season.
