Torres de Quart

SIGHTSEEING, VALENCIA Updated : Apr 22, 2016, 11.57 AM IST

4. torres de quart (2)
Back in the middle ages, Valencia was encased in a forbidding looking fortress with lovely towers, built sometime in the late 14th century. Some of these are still visible today, especially at the end of the Calle Quart. The walls are pock-marked and bear distinct Gothic influences, especially the towers. There is also another set of towers, called Torres des Serranos, which has been renovated and modernized a bit. Part of the original 12 entry ways, it is an important landmark in Valencia’s history. Not only are the walls and towers beautiful to look at, but also offer panoramic views of the city from the top.
