Known as the oldest temple of Goddess Bhadrakali, this was built by King Pulakeshin II of the Chalukya dynasty, way back in 635 AD. There is also a lake that was built adjacent to the temple. One of the most important tourist places in Warangal, this age old temple was very important during the Kakatiya dynasty rule in Warangal. The beautiful temple has a stone image of Goddess Bhadrakali with eight arms, each of which is carrying a weapon. The goddess also has a vahana, a lion, sitting opposite. You should visit the temple early in the morning when the rush is less, because with the passing of day, people come in from all over the city, both tourists and locals in order to worship the goddess.
