With its red walls, shoji screens and antique chandeliers, The Villa Herbs evokes old-Shanghai, but it's tastes are decidedly Taiwanese. The fanciful and artful cocktails - many interpretations of Western classics - are the standouts at this tropical compound.
Surrounded by moodily lit ponds, you'll find two detached buildings: one home to Herbs, the restaurant, and the other called the Villa - the romantic lounge bar. While the service can be slow, that's the point as the plush black couches and low lighting invite guests to settle in for late nights over small plates, desserts and drinks. DJs up the tempo a little at the weekend.
