Bengali actor
Gourab Roy Chowdhury recently underwent critical surgery. The actor was diagnosed with a tumour in his hand which needed to be surgically removed. He is still in hospital and slowly recovering. One of Gourab’s family members told ETimesTV, “He is stable. We all were worried about him since it was a critical surgery. There was a chance of paralysis post-surgery if anything goes wrong but we had to take the risk.
Fortunately, the surgery was successfully done and he is keeping well. We are really grateful to the doctors and all other medical staff.”
The actor will have to stay in hospital for a few more days. He is under medical observation. Doctors advised him to take complete rest.
Gourab was diagnosed with the tumour a few months back. Doctors advised him to undergo surgery. Gourab, who was busy with the shooting of ‘Ogo Nirupama’ and an upcoming film directed by Mainak Bhowmik, decided to undergo the surgery after finishing the shooting for the film.
Earlier, he was rushed to the hospital for a facial infection. One side of his face along with the eye was swollen due to a boil on his forehead that caused the infection. The biopsy of the tumour was conducted while he was hospitalised due to the infection.
The actor got discharged and resumed shoot immediately. Meanwhile, ‘Ogo Nirupama’ also concluded its journey on television.
